Aura is the face of glamorous Ibiza. Since its revamp last year it has been frequently described as the cool kid on the block. With English ownership there’s no danger of feeling too far away from home for us Brits and the opening night played host to socialites from Ibiza and London alike.
You don’t need to look far to see the British influence at Aura, they recently transformed the car park into an enchanting garden restaurant; a vision that could only be executed convincingly by a Londoner well rehearsed in saving space. If it’s razzle-dazzle you’re after then this season’s opening night proved that Aura can deliver.
The focus at Aura is clearly supposed to be the restaurant and as beautiful as it is the for me it's all about the cocktails. It’s uncommon to find a cocktail bar of this standard outside of London or New York. Headed up by renowned mixologist Chris Edwardes you know you’re in safe hands from the moment you make your first request. I challenge you to conceive a cocktail they can’t whip up from memory. We drank Espresso Martinis, Negronis, Twinkles and later on a personalised gin and cream concoction based on my favourite desserts.
When the clock struck midnight Ibiza favourite Antz hit the decks completing Aura’s magical transformation from chill out bar to nightclub. Garden restaurant, cocktail bar, nightclub, Aura’s diversity makes it a one-stop shop for glitz, glamour and good cocktails.
